Making Bread with kids

Last week the kids had the day off before the holiday. The cousins were at the inlaws and we were at home cleaning as usual. Anyway we decided the night before that we would go over and all the kids would make the rolls for the Thanksgiving dinner. You see the cousins were going to be with their mother for the holiday so if we wanted to do something with them we had to do it then. Ok I'm talking too much....

We get to nana's house around noon. I go about fixing lunch for everyone - corn dogs and fries for the kids, stir-fly for me and MIL. After we clean all that up I set about making the dough. I tried to get the kids to help with this but they weren't interested in mixing at this point. Now once the dough had doubled and was time to make the rolls or knots actually. I divided the dough into 3 pieces, rolled that into a 14 inch roll and divided that into 14 pieces, now the kids come in. 6 kids making long dough "snakes" and then tying them into a knot it was so cool to see.

Oh and the rolls were SO good. About 1/2 of them didn't make it to the dinner table the next day. Everybody kept wanting to try one (or two for the kids).
